So a few days ago marked our four months together. We wanted to do something different so boyfriend here suggested baking chocolate chip cookies. Genius! And dare I say, we're pretty good at this cookie baking business. Armed with just a random recipe I got online, the outcome was super awesome. Despite minor drama with the lack of proper measuring cups and tools. (okay so I panicked a liltle)

like his shirt suggests, walnuts made these cookies taste even better

I know some people who for some reason are ALWAYS late.

I wasn't put on earth to wait for you.

Tardiness is LAZINESS.

A couple of "I got stuck in the jam" or "I had an emergency." is acceptable. I'm human. I've had 'emergencies' too. But being late everytime? Oh c'mon!

I was raised to be on time. It's a sign of respect.

So next time you say 4pm. I'll leave the house at 6pm.

We met online. He added me on Facebook. We wooed, we flirted, we laughed, we talked and laughed some more. We dated. He had excess baggage. I found that cute. He liked that I cared so much. He liked that there was always a text message from me whenever he got home from work. He was sweet. (Sound familiar?)

What was a girl to do? To have this really smart, funny, cool guy suddenly appear in my life wooing me like this. And the 'courtship' started. Everything sounds perfect.. doesn't it?

Except I forgot that he was a guy. And guys can be shameless, pathetic fools at times. Unfortunately Mr. A succumbed to this stereotype. What a shame.

You see, if you came up to me and said:
1) "Hey Sharina, you're really cool and all but I'm not looking for anything serious."
2) "Hey Sharina, I should be upfront with you. I'm just looking for a good time."
3) "Hey, Sharina. I'm just gonna play with your feelings from now on. Just so you know."

If you had given me any of those lines, ANY, I wouldn't have taken you so seriously now would I?

Guys. A piece of advice. Tell girls straight on what you want from them. If you're just into fooling around. Let her know. Don't court her, shower her with sweet nothings, promise her things you're not man enough to fulfill. Because you never know. She might just want a good time too. She might just want to fool around too. Perhaps she too, is bored.

A fabulous girl won't settle for teenage boys (no matter how old you said you were).

We're no longer 'friends'. In Facebook and in real life. A shame really because he had good taste in music and films.

But that's A-okay.

D-D-Dubai Day 3

Day 2 consisted of heavy household chores. From cooking (yes, cooking!) to cleaning. No joke. Woke up this morning with intense muscle aches. In the afternoon brought the kids along to Spinney's, the local groceries store where we were all jakun again. Cheap thrills I tell ya. Oh and I had camel's milk. Hell yeah!!! Annnnd it's gooooooood. Really is.

And today we went to the biggest shopping mall in the ENTIRE world. It certainly is huge. And I'm using that term lightly. Huge doesn't do it justice. It's monstrous. It puts Mid Valley Megamall to shame. It's called The Dubai Mall.

Aside from having a big ice skating rink, they've decided to throw in a huge ass aquarium where you can see divers feed live sharks. Plenty of fishes to keep the men company while the women shop.

Here you'll find the BIGGEST candy store in the entire world called Candylicious. Imagine being in a willy-wonka esque land minus the oompa loompa. There was a whole section just for jelly beans. Color coded. Yep! They sell the best ice cream in the world and the best pop corn in the world. I don't know if they were really the best. The prices suggests so.

Aaaannnd we managed to browse through H&M. It's on sale. Oh god yes, they're on sale. (Jimmy Choo for H&M anyone?) - It's practically sold out everywhere else! 250 Dirhams for a pair of killer heels. I dunno. I might just.. I would be a sin if I didn't..

Moving on...

We're going back to this mall. And it'll take a whole day to explore it. God I can't believe I'm so excited about a shopping mall!!!

Highlights of the day.

Exploring the neighborhood mall (Oasis Mall). (Refrained self from getting this lacy vintage black dress. Will save that for the last day).

Had Krispy Kreme which was 10 times better than the one back in KL. One donut here costs 5 Dirhams.

Went around a marina where we saw yachts docking, parachutes flying off a helicopter up in the sky and rolls royces parked by the street.

For dinner, Tyha and I dug into Hardees Portabello Melt burger by the sea with the Burj Al-Arab at the background.

Witnessing a stretch Hummer Limousine pass by. Too jakun to take a photo.

P/S: Too lazy to post photos of today. Didn't manage to get much though. Anyways I'm off to bed. Have to wake up at 6am tomorrow. Sending the kids off to school!

I spend most of my afternoons blog hopping, site surfing, facebook stalking (c'mon, admit it. you do it too) and everything in between. So today I'm going to share a compilation of the most random (but useful!) sites that I've stumbled upon.

1) This one is a guilty pleasure for most girls I'm sure. We've all fantasized about fictional characters in our heads. Be it from too much high school teen drama series or books. I'm sure you have :). This livejournal page is just that. Made up fictional characters inspired by celebrities.

2) Color scheme designer is heaven sent for all artists. Finding combination colors has never been easier. Use it to figure out what colors go together or just finding color hex codes!

3) This one I can't decide. Whether weird or just plain genius!! Perfect for those ~~stalkers~~ out there :) Send love notes, ransom notes, whatever. Depending on the person you send it to, it can be kinda sweet. I printscan the images and turn them into jpegs and send them to people. Hmm I shouldn't have said that. Below is an example I made.

Just sent my computer for serious overhaulin. Getting it upgraded alang-alang. Tak boleh tahanlah. The previous specs couldn't cope with the softwares I was using. (and i weally weally wanna play Sims 3)
The guy said that they don't produce the processor I was using. He even smiled and said,

"Ini computer, zaman bila?" in his cina slang. Too cute.

I just shrugged and said "Lama sangat dah."

I'm just going to ignore the big fat hefty price tag and say goodbye to any intentions of shopping for the whole month.

Who knew being somewhere so far from home, actually did some good to my soul? Cheesy? Yeah probably. But this trip was what I needed.

Being so far from everything, I had room to breathe. To think. To sit on soft white sand watching the sunset and telling myself..

I had never travelled out of Malaysia (Singapore doesn't count). So I didn't have any expectations. I knew there would be mat sallehs, I knew there wouldn't be any mat rempits.. and I knew I would look more like a midget than ever..

But I never expected the bluest skies. The most polite drivers on road. The sunsets, oh god yes! The sunsets! And the welcoming early winter chill of course :)

I loved every minute of being somewhere different. And hopefully be back there one day.

And of course being a jakun tourist, I took alot of photographs. So I was happy. Oh and the shopping? Don't get me started on the shopping!! (used up close to 300 AUD in a week. no shit)

I'll upload more photos soon. Can't now because a) The photographs are not with me. b) I have a lot of workload piling up.

Leaving Perth was bittersweet. But I know I'll be back someday.
I'm back now wallet lighter, life richer.

In the plane, almost on landing, the pilot made an announcement..

"Kepada semua pelawat, kami ucapkan Selamat Datang... dan kepada semua penduduk Malaysia, Selamat Pulang ke tanah air.."

And I was home.

This is probably a good thing. Going on this lil' roller coaster ride. I need this. I've forgotten how beautiful and strange this game can be.

The rush is all worth it.

Things are pretty awesome so far. I've never felt at peace with myself in a long time. I've realised something last night. That things happen for a reason and it might not always go my way. But that's just how it is sometimes, and I am okay with that.

I need this trip to Aus. I need to find myself (petikan dari iklan Australia : "sometimes to find yourself, you need to walkabout")

err.. or something like that.

I'm looking forward to what lies ahead of me. Surprise me.

Deaf In One Ear

Yesterday, along with a few high school mates, we went to the My Stereo Rocks gig at Zouk. Waited for five hours waiting for Yuna and The Times to perform. Five hours of mediocre music and bad sound system. But the highlight has to be when this heavy metal band came on stage.

The band was called Revenge and they played pure self indulgent rock music. Not everyone was digging it, but I kinda like the head banging and guitar licks. (all of my friends cringed) haha super awesome!

The organizers could do better at the sound system. Yuna's mic went silencio halfway thru 'Rocket' and the line up couldn't be anymore random than it was. A mismatch of screamo, heavy metal, emo, indie & retro pop hooplah all rolled up into one. We only really did enjoy a few bands. But hey, it's really somethin to come all the way down to support the local scene. Love it or not, sure beats a boring ol Sunday.

"You all ROCKS!" (inside joke :p)

Holga berjaya dijual kepada lomo babe Farhana.
Meeting up with her a bit later at Pavilion. Malangnya lomo surprise dah terkoyak so terpaksalah ganti dengan dua roll filem 120. Salah satu daripadanya, filem Rollei. Harap gumbira an! :D

Sempat singgah Lot 10 for the Anna Sui sale. Katanya choices limited. Kita lihat nanti.

Work is a bitch. My workload at the office is piling up. And it doesn't help that I have to work with really incompetent people. But I love working here. I've been with this company for over 2 years and I like being a part of a great family business. But sometimes I just feel like ripping my head off! I don't know how long I can cope with this madness. Probably one day I'll just snap. Hope that day doesn't come.

I need a break. Give me one will you please?

Yesterday was the dreaded JPJ test.

AND I PASSED!!!!!!

woot!! woot!! hahaha kecoh nye minah. I honestly didn't expect to pass. Not the slope and parking at least. Cuz tak penah perfect la sebelum ni. Like selalu langgar tiang and enjin mati. So I think lady luck was by my side yesterday. Everything went surprisingly smooth. *pats self on back*

So now I can start driving to work. Save moolah (no more taxi rides) and I don't have to rely on others for rides anymore heh heh. Hopefully I'll get my car soon. Probably get some cheapo mosyek car (inside joke). Sheeeeeeeeesh.

On another note, I spent the whole day in KL today. Shaz and I ended up in Pavilion. And I bought as many STILA makeup I could get my hands on! Muahahahaa~ Tapi banyak dah habis sebab everything was on sale from 50% onwards. Girls were literally snatching make up from the counter. Clawing their way in. Everyone was in a frenzy so I stepped back for awhile. Takut gila sey.

In the end I only managed to get two eyeshadows for RM25 each. A STEAL!!! Wanted to get their smudge pots and eyeliner too but everything was SOLD OUT!! Damn those ladies are fast.

So girls, if you wanna get your hands on marked down STILA stuffs. Go now. Like NOW!
